Executive Roundtables

Careers / Event Planning Leaders
If you are a senior level industry professional (10+ years of experience minimum) you have unique career development needs. One platform we've found of significant value to these leaders are private, curated roundtable discussions, where you can exchange ideas and tackle common challenges with your peers.

Roundtable for Heads of In-House Event Teams

This roundtable is a forum for department heads to exchange ideas, share best practices, brainstorm solutions to common problems, and network with true peers, in closed-door sessions. Participation is restricted to a vetted group of senior industry leaders who run in-house departments or event teams. Members include leaders from IBM, Bank of America, KPMG, BlackRock, Groupon, Scholastic, Skadden, Tribune Publishing, Univision, TD Bank, Universal Music Group, Oppenheimer Funds, AOL, and others.

Topics of discussion tend to focus on:
  • proving the department's value to their companies
  • identifying and improving the R.O.I. of their events
  • developing and nurturing key staff
  • encouraging creativity and innovation in how their teams produce events
  • key industry trends that will impact their departments

The group meets twice a year, once in January/February, and once in July/August. It is facilitated by E.L.I., and co-chaired by Rachel Gross, SVP of Event Marketing of Univision; Danielle Purfey, Director, Events & Meetings, KPMG; and Haley Carlson, National Director of Events & Sponsorships of Tribune Publishing.

To apply for membership you should meet the following criteria:

  • A minimum of 10 years of industry experience
  • Management of a team
  • The average department spend level is $5-10 million

The application can be found by clicking here.  Your membership application will be screened before acceptance into the group.

Roundtable for Owners of Event Companies / Independent Planners

We are currently trying to gauge interest for this group, which would discuss business issues related to running an event company such as sales and marketing, pricing, proposals, client management, hiring staff, etc. If you would be interested in this group, please click here.
