Job description

SCHEELS is seeking a Part -Time Event Coordinator Assistant that will act as a liaison between SCHEELS and our customers, vendors and the community by providing superior service in all relations affiliated. The associate will professionally represent SCHEELS by working with the Marketing Leader, Assistant Store Leader and the Store Leader to assist with events and outreach strategies that align with the store goals.

Responsibilities Include

  • Assist with the annual strategy of events that promote and align with the store’s goals and creates customer and store interaction
    • Execute first class events to drive sales, traffic, and community good-will
  • Coordinates schedules, organize materials, review transportation itineraries and book venues and services
  • Determine and direct events, including:
    • Advertising
    • Staging
  • Serving the community through fundraisers and assisting in the donation process
    • Making calls for donations when they are ready for pick up
  • Understand the SCHEELS brand and event marketing strategies
  • Contribute to a work environment that fosters pride in being part of a winning team and promotes personal growth
  • Welcome, greet and address customers in friendly and courteous manner while providing prompt and outstanding services
  • Data entry
    • Experience in Microsoft Office is required
    • Experience in Google Docs is preferred
  • Other duties may be assigned by leadership
    • Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
      • Associate is frequently required to do the following with or without accommodations:
        • Prolonged standing and/or sitting
        • Repetitive motions requiring use of both wrists and hands
        • Able to work for extended periods of time
        • Able to reach, balance, walk and crawl
        • Able to hold normal conversations and receive ordinary information

Additional Requirements

    • Meet all project deadlines
    • Ability to work independently, with the leadership team and peers
    • Exercise judgment and tact and be able to effectively work with all levels within the organization while working on projects
    • Demonstrate strong oral/written communication skills, organization, attention to detail, problem solving and presentation skills, to communicate effectively
    • Leadership and management experience along with a strong knowledge of Scheels’ polices and applicable laws
    • Be professional in appearance and attitude, contribute to a positive team atmosphere and treat others with respect and consideration while following Scheels’ policies and procedures
    • Must possess a valid driver’s license


    • Ability to work assigned schedule which may include varied hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
