Catering sales / Event Designer are responsible for securing new business and maintaining repeat customers for our facilities and catering business. Done through sales calls, networking and in coming leads. Negotiate contracts and help clients select their menu and other design ellements. Remain in close contact with clients and potential clients from the planning stages to after events. Having a personable and highly professional demeanor is absolutely necessary. Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with organization skills and the ability to multi task is key.
Sales goals are set and it’s a requirement to meet them on a monthly and yearly basis. These goals may be adjusted periodically, so an ability to adapt to change is important.
The hours worked are irregular, and vary based on clients’ needs. A large portion of the work involved may be done in the office during normal business hours Monday through Friday, however it is expected to be present at events to ensure that all goes according to the contract and to purse new sales leads whenever the opertunity presents itself. This can often mean late hours and working on the weekend.
Must have a highly service-oriented demeanor, basic computing skills, higher level communication skills and be a team player
