Meeting, Convention and Event Sales Manager for the Washington County Tourism Department

$45,572.80 annually / 40 hours

Working under the supervision of the Tourism Director, the MC&E Sales Manager will be primarily responsible for generating and booking group business for facilities in Washington County including the Dixie Center, conference hotels and other meeting facilities and venues, with a primary focus on maximizing facility use and generating hotel room nights. Responsible for developing and implementing a sales strategy with a tracking mechanism and a measureable ROI.

Must love selling and the sales process actively sell and strategically manage current accounts
Ability to think creatively and strategically and work within budget
A strong team orientation is critical due to the collaborative culture within the tourism office.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Recruit local, state and national organizations to introduce St. George as a premier meeting destination. Conduct direct sales efforts through sales calls, convention bids, targeted sales missions and participation in trade shows and travel industry activities designed to reach consumers and meeting planners. Conduct follow-up calls as a result of trade shows, expos or sales missions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree preferred with a minimum of two (2) years of related experience in B2B sales;

AND

Proven hospitality sales, meetings/event planning industry experience or similar sales experience;

OR

An equivalent combination of education and experience.
