Sherry DeLaGarza, CMP, CMM

Sherry has been a planner in the meetings industry for over 24 years, with experience in association management, third-party, and corporate meeting and event planning. She has managed events of all sizes and types, including international board meetings and multi-day education conferences for over 50,000 attendees.
Sherry has been a member of Meeting Professionals International (MPI) Dallas/Fort Worth chapter for 20 years, serving as 2016-2017 President. Sherry has been recognized by her peers with receiving the 2007 MPI D/FW Planner of the Year Award; Spirit Award in November 2012; and 2015 Mentor of the Year. She also received the 2010 ISES Texas STAR Award for Best Corporate Event with Budget over $100,000.
On the MPI global level, Sherry is currently serving as chair of the RISE Up Task Force reporting to the International Board of Directors, and was invited to participate in the fall 2017 Thought Leadership Summit for the development of the 2018 Meeting and Event Planning Safety and Security Best Practices Guide.
Sherry is passionate about education, mentoring, and giving back to an industry in which she has grown professionally and personally. Her hobbies include hiking, camping, reading, and spending time with her 3 children, 2 granddaughters, and her 2 rescue dogs Bevo (a Yorkie) and Lola (Aussie Shepherd).
